Who Are We?
Introduction
The Rivonia Improvement District (RID) was established in 2022 as a community-led precinct management initiative aimed at protecting and enhancing the Rivonia public environment. It provides a structured platform for property owners to collectively address safety, cleanliness, and urban management challenges through coordinated action and shared investment.
About the Rivonia Improvement District
The RID is a non-profit precinct management entity that delivers supplementary public-space services within the Rivonia precinct. Governed by a Board of Directors and managed by a professional management team, the RID focuses on safety, cleaning and maintenance, and the management of the social and infrastructure environment. Its role is to complement municipal services, strengthen local coordination, and safeguard long-term property value and precinct vitality.
Our Core Focus
The core focus is to provide Community-Based Public Space Urban Management Services through:
• Efficient Precinct and Operations Management.
• Providing supplementary and complementary council services, as well as lobbying on behalf of property owners to resolve service-delivery issues.
Our key focus areas are:
• Cleaning, Landscaping Maintenance and Public Space Maintenance
• Public Space Security
• Managing the Social and Infrastructure environment
These aspects are all interdependent and connected as depicted in the Venn diagram:
1. Our cleaning, landscaping and maintenance services assist in maintaining public infrastructure and ensuring an aesthetically pleasing and inviting precinct.
2. Our cleaning and security services work hand in hand to promote a “Clean, Green and Safe” public space.
3. Our security services provide safety for those living and working in the precinct, as well as protect the public infrastructure from theft and vandalism.

The Improvement District does not take over the Council’s responsibility. Through our good relationships with Council and its entities, we ensure that they provide the basic services in the district as stipulated in their service level agreements.
